Rod and Vicky, who are the founding partners, were both graduates in furniture and textile design. After working for a variety of companies as professional designers, they felt the need to take a few years out from the 9 – 5 to travel the world and find some adventure. It was during this time that they hit upon the idea of establishing their own company, handcrafting functional art pieces.

Thus in 1997 Mundos Bizarro ( roughly translated as bizarre world ) was created with the aid of the Prince's Youth Business Trust. They initially traded on craft markets selling one off children’s accessories and automata pieces.
However after an amazing response to the Nautical Collection shown at their first Trade Fair they decided to continue marketing themselves to trade customers.

Several years down the line and now trading as Mundos the company has developed a large UK customer base and, as a result of market demand, specialise predominantly in Children’s interior accessories.

Good design is still at the forefront of the company’s ethos and parallel to their standard range Mundos regularly develop bespoke designs for trade customers.
